§ 10.44.030. Prohibited use of skateboards on public property.

  • The use of skateboards for any purpose by any person upon the public streets, public sidewalks, public rights-of-way, or public property within the city is prohibited in the following areas of the city:

    (1)

    In the entire area bordered by the east right-of-way line of Chestnut Street, southerly right-of-way line of North Railroad Street, the west right-of-way line of Elm Street and the north right-of-way line of Fifth Street;

    (2)

    In all city parks;

    (3)

    In all areas which are designated by order of the Wilton City Council and in which signs have been erected giving notice of the prohibited use of skateboards as provided in this chapter;

    (4)

    With the exception of the multi-purpose slab located on Railroad Street south of City Hall (Butterfields Addition Block 46 South one-half of Lot 3). Hours for skateboarding in this area are seven a.m. until ten p.m. If there is a special event being held in the downtown area, skateboarding will not be allowed on the multi-purpose slab.
