§ 11.08.070. Snow and ice removal in C-2 central commercial district.

Latest version.
  • Property owners or tenants have ten daylight hours from the last accumulation in which to clear their sidewalks. If it snows again before the ten hours are up, the city will still post notices on the old snow or ice. Sidewalks must be cleared the full width of the surface.

When an un-cleaned walk is reported, the walk will be checked and posted with a twenty-four-hour notice to clean the walk. If it is not cleared within twenty-four hours, the city will clear the walks and the property owner will be charged. The cost is seventy-five cents per running foot, plus a thirty-five dollars administrative fee.

The city will clear the streets in the business district on the evening following a snowstorm. This will allow time for merchants to shovel the snow off of the sidewalk into the street.
