§ 15.29.010. Definitions.

  • For use in this chapter, the following terms are defined:

    (1)

    CBOD" (denoting carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand) means the quantity of oxygen utilized in the biological oxidation of organic matter under standard laboratory procedure in five days at twenty degrees Celsius, expressed in milligrams per liter or parts per million.

    (2)

    "Total suspended solids (TSS)" means the portion of total solids retained by a filter using EPA methods or standard methods.

    (3)

    "TKN" means the total Kjeldahl nitrogen concentration expressed in mg/l as determined using EPA methods or standard methods.

    (4)

    "Normal domestic wastewater" means wastewater that has a BOD5 concentration of not more than one hundred twenty-five mg/l, a suspended solids concentration of not more than one hundred twenty-five mg/l, and an ammonia nitrogen concentration of not more than sixty-five mg/l.
