§ 15.29.030. Surcharge.

  • For those contributors who contribute wastewater, the strength of which is greater than the limits set out below, a surcharge in addition to the normal user charge will be collected. The city will collect twenty-four-hour composite samples once a month and submit them for testing to determine the appropriate charges for that month. The contributor will be responsible for paying the testing costs. The surcharge for operation and maintenance including replacement is:

    (1)

    Twenty-two cents per pound carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand (CBOD) per pound over one hundred twenty-five mg/l.

    (2)

    Sixty cents per pound total suspended solids (TSS) in excess of one hundred twenty-five mg/l.

    (3)

    Sixteen cents per pound total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) in excess of sixty-five mg/l.
