§ 10.16.010. Parking—Parallel—Angle—Straight-in.

  • No person shall park a vehicle on any street other than parallel with the street and headed in the direction of lawful traffic movement and with the right-hand wheels of the vehicle within eighteen inches of the curb or edge of the roadway, except that:

    Angle parking shall be permitted in the following places:

    (1)

    Upon those streets in the central business district which are so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (2)

    Upon the east side of Elm Street from the south line of Fifth Street south a distance of eighty feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (3)

    Upon the east side of Maurer Street from a point which is twenty feet north of the north line of Fifth Street north a distance of one hundred twenty feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (4)

    Upon the south side of Wate Street from the west line of Seminary Street east a distance of four hundred fifty-six feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (5)

    Upon the north side of Sixth Street from a point which is forty feet west of the west line of Walnut Street west to the east right-of-way line of Chestnut Street extended, except that no parking shall be permitted on said north side of Sixth Street where the curb has been painted yellow to designate a no parking area, or the area has otherwise been posted as a no parking area. Parking shall specifically not be permitted where any designated school crosswalk crossing Sixth Street is located, or in any area surrounding that crosswalk which is also designated a no parking area by a yellow painted curb. All parking in this area shall also be limited to that area which is marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking. Parking on the south side of Sixth Street shall be parallel parking only;

    (6)

    Upon the north side of East Prairie Street from the east line of Maurer Street east a distance of three hundred fifty feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (7)

    Upon the south side of East Prairie Street from the east line of Maurer Street east a distance of one hundred thirty feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (8)

    Upon the north side of Wate Street from the west line of Locust Street west a distance of three hundred twenty-four feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking.

    (9)

    Upon the west side of Elm Street from the south line of Fifth Street south a distance of one hundred forty-eight feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (10)

    Upon the east side of that portion of West Street which runs north and south, which is marked by signs indicating the permission of angle parking, and by the placement of parking barriers and/or the painting of curb and street to indicate the angle of parking;

    (11)

    Upon the south side of First Street between Walnut and Locust Streets, starting from a point ninety-five feet east of the Walnut Street right-of-way; then angle parking is permitted for a distance of forty-two feet and which is so marked with a concrete pad forty-two feet long by twenty feet wide and painted to indicate angle parking;

    (12)

    Upon the east side of Walnut Street between Jackson and First Streets, starting from a point fifteen feet north of the north alley right-of-way; then angle parking is permitted for a distance of forty-seven feet and which is so marked with a concrete pad forty-seven feet long by twenty feet wide and painted to indicate angle parking.

    (13)

    Upon the west side of Vine Street between (east) Third Street and the railroad right-of-way, starting at a point sixty feet north of the north Third Street right-of-way line, the angle parking is permitted for a distance of two hundred feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb to indicate the angle of parking.

    (14)

    Upon the west side of Locust Street between First and Second Street. Straight-in parking shall begin at a point seventeen feet from the north right-of-way line of First Street a distance of one hundred ten feet and which is so marked to indicate the parking spaces.

    (15)

    Upon the east side of Cypress Street between First and Second Street. Straight-in parking shall begin at a point seventeen feet from the north right-of-way line of First Street a distance of one hundred ten feet and which is so marked to indicate the parking spaces.

    Straight-in parking shall be permitted in the following places:

    (A)

    Upon the south side of Rose Street from the east line of East Street a distance of five hundred feet,

    (B)

    Upon the west side of Cypress Street from the south line of Rose Street a distance of two hundred eighty feet,

    (C)

    Upon the north side of Wate Street from the west line of Cypress Street west a distance of four hundred forty feet,

    (D)

    Upon the east side of Cypress Street from a point which is thirty feet north to a point which is four hundred fifty feet north of the north line of Summit Street and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking,

    (E)

    Upon the east side of Oak Street from the south line of Division Street south a distance of one hundred ninety feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking,

    (F)

    Upon the south side of Wate Street from a point five hundred thirty feet east of the east line of West Street east a distance of two hundred ninety-six feet and which is so marked by the painting of the curb and street to indicate the angle of parking,

    (G)

    Upon the east side of Elm Street from the northerly right-of-way line of Fifth Street north a distance of seventy feet. The number of straight-in parking spaces so allowed shall not exceed seven.
